The cul-de-sac location of this house provided great potential to fully utilise the wedge shaped site and create a generous ‘granny annexe’. Built for the client’s mother to live independently, although joined to the main house the annexe has its own identity with a contemporary multi-pitched roof form and timber cladding. From the front of the property only a small part of the annexe is visible, but at the rear the design incorporates large areas of glazing to maximise natural light and connection to the garden.
